“You make a living by what you get; you make a life by what you give.”

Our support of the Children’s Hospital Trust is a personal story about gratitude and wanting to give back, and not just one of those things that businesses and corporates are expected to do.

Steven’s mother passed away after spending over 100 days on life support in a UK hospital.  Blown away by the great care she received – Steven felt a need to “pay it forward”. This gratitude inspired us to “Do Great Things” and for “More Than Ourselves” which started the journey to raising funds and awareness for the Children’s Trust through our involvement in sporting endurance events such as the Ironman and the Comrades Marathon.

Through these types of events, and the generosity of our friends and clients – we have raised over R300 000 for the Children’s Trust.

About the Trust

The need for a hospital dedicated entirely to children – especially children predominantly from impoverished communities throughout Africa – is critically important. So important, that it needs a champion to make sure that it’s able to keep doing the phenomenal work it does. That champion is the Children’s Hospital Trust.

The Trust was established in 1994 to advance child healthcare through the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital – the first stand-alone tertiary hospital, exclusively for children, in sub-Saharan Africa.

As an independent, registered non-profit organisation, they rely on the generous donations of our donors to fund the Hospital.

How can you Help?

1 By considering a donation to the trust – donations qualify for a tax deduction under section 18A and a certificate will be issued by the Trust.
2 You could also chat to us around structuring a charitable bequest through your estate planning. In many instances this could even reduce your estate duty liability.
When you donate to the Trust, every cent goes towards funding projects that change children’s lives (and the lives of the people who love them).

The operational costs of the Trust are funded from an endowment, so your generous contributions are never used for administration.
